Hello! So as you see I haven't been quite up to date with posts, so I thought I'd go ahead and show you my latest project!
I've always been open to learning how to sew and alter clothes. So I have a bunch of XL clothes from Salvation Army that I specifically said "Here Regina, practice". So since this weekend I was sick and didn't get to hang out with anyone, I decided that I'll work on a dress :)
***
Here we have the beginning piece. I bought this dress a couple months ago for about $2 at Salvation Army.
(I didn't even try it on when I grabbed it off the rack!) When I hung it up I automatically knew I was going to shorten the skirt, raise the cuffs and sinch in the waist.
I did a couple doodles to show where I was going to alter. When I took a good look at the belt, I realized it just wasn't going to work. The best had little ring holes that I wouldn't have been able to fix, I just don't have the tools. So I threw it out. (or saved for a different outfit)
And here we have the finished piece once all the hard work paid off. It is now WEARABLE!! The pictures may seem like different colors, but it is simple, I took them at all sorts of different time of day.
Well there you go dolls! Here I am wearing the dress! It is actually quite comfy. Of course I would accessorize with this outfit, I just wanted to get something onto my blog before I procrastinate.
I hope you guys enjoyed the new dress the same way I have! Maybe I'll take some REAL pictures, complete getup and all! Come back for more tutorials on thrift items!
Good day loves!
xx
